I went to Las Vegas 2 years ago . Pre paid for hotel . On arrival I had to pay $300 in resort fees add currency exchange on top of that and it ended up being $460. Ridiculous!!

You guys that do travel regularly do realize the regular hotels in any city charge fees (resort fees) even if it’s not a resort or casino just look at your itemized receipt so it’s not just Vegas.

My wife and I just left the Vegas from a 4 night stay and didn’t pay any resort fees at the Golden Nugget and we had a great room and view and they cleaned our room every day without having to request it

People keep complaining about Las Vegas being expensive but paying 200 dollars for 3 nights on the strip in a resort hotel is completely doable while being impossible anywhere else. Unless you use points, Vegas is an incredibly affordable option.

What we need is free shuttle to the Strip from cheap hotels nearby.

Last time I was in Vegas was 2012 for a business trip, could not wait to get the hell out of there, even then everything was overpriced, machines were stingy, and the vibe sucked.

I spent $736 for 4 nights in Vegas. I thought it was a good deal.

People don't understand how bad the heat really actually is. It's constant 100F+ for months in a row with practically nothing but sun. You'd get lucky if you got some clouds or the rare rain in the summer. It effects you daily if you do normal routine things like grocery store shopping or driving to different destinations. Sure you have AC in the car but the beating sun is what makes it intolerable the second you get our of the car to walk somewhere. Can hardly go and enjoy outside. Even in the shade it's still hot and the fact that there are hardly any trees amongst the greater part of the valley besides parks makes it a hot intolerable climate that one doesn't know how to deal with. Go out when the sun goes down!

The way things are going Vegas will be primarily for the rich. It'll take the average person to save 20% pf their salary for 1 weekend in Vegas and that's at the lower end.

Gambling has gone down hill? Gamblings always been a bottom barrel pasttime. Always been and continues to be the business of former criminal organizations that infiltrated the pockets of governors to make their practices legal. Ive heard Vegas has decent resteraunts and a cool racetrack, but outside of that theres nothing interesting about the place.

Jacob, u gotta know that Treasure "resort fees opt-out" special promos typically inflate the room rate vs much lower rates offered without the promo "deal"! It's largely a smoke and mirrors minimal saving! AND YOU'RE ALSO GETTING ZERO AMENITIES!

We don’t go there anymore. I loved going for years but got tired of the extra costs. Reno is fun or we just go to some of the Indian casinos.

I have a better idea, just don’t go to Vegas. I have been there dozens of times and in my opinion, it’s gone from a good time to an expensive time. They are blood suckers now so I’m done with Vegas. Vote with your dollar bills people.

Went there for a soccer tournament, just a trashy town, never seen something so cheesy in my life.

Yea man. I've lived here for 19.5 years and we NEVER go to the strip. We haven't gambled period in well over a decade, but if we did we'd run to Red Rock or Alienante (we live between the two), not the strip! The traffic, the jacked up prices for everything (gaming, food, entertainment etc.) and especially now that even locals have to pay to park at the casinos there, you couldn't pay me to set food down there. I avoid when I have old friends/family that comes into town because I know they're going to want me to be their tour guide down there and they don't believe me when I say that I'm as big of a Las Vegas Strip Tourist as they are! I don't know what's going on down there, where the hot spots are, where the great food is, what shows or concerts are happening...NOTHING. So unless you want to come chill up in the quite, calm and boring far nothwest corner of the valley, don't call me!!! 😂

That's alot of work to avoid resort fees. Used to go to vegas 4-5 times a year in the 80's and 90's. They had great food and Buffets and no resort fees. They are now charging you parking fees. Ridiculous.

Dumb question, by why don’t they just show the full advertised price instead of hiding the resort fee. I’d rather see something like 160 dollars a night total than 99 dollars and the resort hiding the fee. Just show me the whole price
